Born in 1954 in Montreal, Nicole Laporte now lives in Rigaud, Quebec. Her naive work is highly evocative of simple times of happy moments of an earlier childhood, focusing on the 20s and 30s.  Her paintings tell stories everybody can relate to.  Expressing the joy of being alive and the beauty of nature are the central themes of Laporte's work.

Drawing has been a daily fixture of her life since childhood.  Nicole started painting with oils in the 1980s after having worked as a court clerk for years.  With time her hobby turned into a profound passion.  Her work can now be found in galleries from Quebec to British Columbia.
